I formed a non- profit company that will be involved in raising funds for diabetes. It will be launched on Blogger starting March 1st. In the mean time I will be posting the following news:
- Fund Raising Events

The following post explains why I ride.
On June 22, 1952, I began my journey. It’s been a long road
of ups and downs, between events that I could and could not change. The event
that took me by surprise was in 1992, when I passed out at the wheel and hit a
car head on. I totaled my car and didn’t wake up until a stranger started
shaking me from a comatose state. I had to crawl through the window to get out.
They took me to the hospital and found out that I had a blood sugar that was
slightly higher than 550. I had so much glass in my face; my wife didn’t
recognize me at first. For the next twenty years I struggled with diabetes,
weight gain, sleep apnea, and a lack of energy. Like most men, we tend to
procrastinate about our health. And I was the king of procrastination, when it
came to my diabetes.
My health was one
item that was almost impossible to change. In order to continue, I knew I had
to improve my health and get back on track. I asked God to provide the help
that I would need to move forward. My wife supported me throughout this
journey. For that alone, I love her dearly. Today, I am 70 lbs lighter, no high
blood sugars, and have enough energy to ride like the wind. I asked god, “Why
did you help me?” This is what he said.

ASKED ME, I DECIDED TO GIVE YOU YOUR SECOND WIND
